Welcome to Wimbledon Cricket Club

one of the most popular and successful clubs in the Surrey Championship, current Surrey t20 Champions and National t20 finalists.

The cricket section has an enviable record of success in recent years and this has been reflected in the growing number of teams and players that we have attracted.  We have 5 Saturday teams playing the highest level of club cricket in Surrey.

We welcome players of all abilities who enjoy committing to play good cricket and becoming great club members. We look forward to seeing potential new senior members at either our Winter Nets (in the Club’s own Sports Hall) or at outdoor practice on Tuesday nights in the season.

Our Junior section for boys and girls aged U5-U15 is hugely successful and in high demand.  We have waiting lists in most boys age groups whilst the girls cricket continues to grow.

ECB Umpire Education Courses:  being held at the club!

Stage One

This course is designed to give you an overview of the basic Laws of the game and how to apply them and introduce the principles of field craft and match management. It will give you the tools to enable you to umpire matches at the basic recreational level where there are no independent umpires appointed.

The course will run over 2 Sundays: 10 February and 17 February,  9.30am - 1.30pm.

There are no requirements for attending Stage One, such as age limitations or membership of ECB ACO.  To book your place on this course click here ECB Stage 1 Umpire course

Stage Two

This course is designed to build on Umpire Education Stage One, covering further Laws and exploring the concept of working as part of a team with a colleague and the scorers. It is intended to introduce you to the skills and knowledge required to be a member of a league panel. Once you have completed the course, we recommend that you refresh your understanding of the Laws covered and study them more thoroughly by referring to the MCC on-line Laws resource.

The course will run over 2 Sundays: 3 and 10 March, 9.30am - 1.30pm

This course complements Stage One by looking beyond the basic laws, building on field craft and match management techniques and introducing the concept of working, as a team, with a colleague.  To book your place on this course click here ECB Stage 2 Umpire Course
